2011 Jean Daneel Signature Red
x 3 bottles 750ml
PLEASE NOTE THIS WINE IS IN JOHANNESBURG
Jean and Renee Daneel settled into the quiet but quaint country town of Napier en route to the well-known Arniston Struisbaai and L’Agulhas in 2004. They established their wine farm and boutique winery which their eldest son Jean-Pierre now heads as winemaker. Today he has established himself as one of the top winemakers in the country and has achieved international acclaim for his outstanding wines.
This, his signature red, is an expression of Jean’s extensive experience with Bordeaux varieties, and inspired by the French classics. After the grapes arrived at the cellar it underwent cold maceration for 2 weeks. Thereafter the fermentation started and it fermented for 4 weeks until dry and then only pumped into small French oak barrels of 225 L for ageing. The wine stayed in the barrels for 38 months, of which 40% were new.
