Mark Nicholson (1871-1941) was a member of the West Bromwich Albion 1892 Football Association Cup winning team. The game was played on the 19th of March 1892 at the Kennington Oval in front of 32000 supporters and West Brom beat Aston Villa 3-0 with goals from Alfred Geddes, Sammy Nicholls and Jack Reynolds. Nicholson played full back, and went on to play for Luton Town and First Vienna FC, where he became the player/coach. He was instrumental in establishing organised football in Austria.
1892 was the last time the FA Cup final was played at the Kennington Oval, and it was the first time that goal nets were used.
