3 x 2010 Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico 1.5Lt MAGNUM, Provenance: Restaurant Mosaic Wine Cellar Collection
Fèlsina is a leading wine estate in Chianti Classico, founded in 1966. It is situated at the southeast edge of the Classico appellation. It was once one of many estates owned by the Dukes of Tuscany, and was farmed mainly by sharecroppers growing olives until World War II.
Chianti Classico is the cornerstone of the estate’s production. The vineyards are located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the South-Eastern part of the Chianti Classico appellation, to the North-East of Siena. Almost exclusively with a South-Western exposure, they sprawl across ventilated slopes at an altitude ranging from 320-420 meters above sea level. The Chianti Classico is 100% Sangiovese aged in a combination of casks and smaller French oak barrels.
Deep ruby-red. Expressive nose reminiscent of wild black fruits with a touch of mint and incense in the background. Fresh, precise palate showing a savoury creamy dimension. Focused, elegant finish. A wine with real allure.
"Beradenga shows underbrush and oak aromas along with berry and white pepper. The palate boasts new-wood notes of vanilla and and espresso as well as dense black cherry. It has dusty tannins that finish on a dry note." - 87/100, Wine Enthusiast
