A Batavian Dutch colonial, late 19th century, teak and padouk wood collectors cabinet on stand, the teak wood cabinet is on a twisted teak " kruisvoet" stand, there are two drawers upon the stand, with two doors doors above, richly adorned with brass escutcheons and hinges and an elaborate lock plate, the doors conceal nine padouk veneered drawers with watershed patterns in the veneers, all drawers with teak wood banding and brass handles on the sides, recently French polished.
56 cm high, 103 cm wide, 49 cm deep.
Provenance: From a Dutch colonial family from Java, later living in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
