Winemaker Koen Roose is passionate about his Tugela River range – he states that this is the only Chardonnay block on the first finger slope (one of the six fingers) located on the Spioenkop hill in Elgin, which is now showing off beautifully after 6 years of root development... “a beauty with an amazing future” … The Tugela River Wines is a very special range, close to the winemakers heart. Created with sommeliers and chefs in mind, reflecting the heart of Elgin. Perfect for being served by the glass or to create an exquisite menu or dish. A wonderful addition to the Spioenkop offering, creating depth and variety.
On the palate one finds a creamy, richer tropical impression in the first few seconds, surrounded by a beautiful, integrated freshness that transports us back to Elgin's cooler climate.
