2007 Scali Blanc (750ml) x 6 - Provenance: Restaurant Mosaic Wine Cellar Collection
This wine was handcrafted by Willie and Tania de Waal, fifth generation vignerons on their family farm, Schoone Oord. Perfectly ripe grapes fermented and aged for 12 months in old French oak barriques. the name Scali is a marriage of Schoone Oord and their dominant soil Shale. "70% Chenin, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Viognier, with three days on the skins, and some foot treading. Deep gold colour. Very rich apricot, herb, spice and marmalade nose. The palate is lively with intense tangerine fruit and notes of herbs and nuts. Amazingly alive with real freshness and some structure. A brilliant wine. 94/100" from Jamie Goode.
