Georg Matthaus Seutter (1647 – 1757) was a German map engraver and publisher. In Nuremberg he apprenticed as an engraver under Johann Baptist Homann and later established his own cartographic publishing firm in Augsburg, issuing large number of maps based on earlier Homann and De L’Isle works. From the 1730s he was one of the most prolific German publishers and was given by the Roman Holy Emperor the title of “Imperial Geographer”. His most famous work is “Atlas Novus Sive Tabulae Geographicae,” published in two volumes ca. 1730. After Seutter death, the firm continued under his son, Albrecht Carl Seutter.
