Each rectangular top with a concave edged overhanging cap frame above a pair of pivot-hinged doors enclosing a pair of shelves and concealed storage area, the doors lacquered in tones of red with gilt highlights depicting vases issuing flowers and scholar's objects, fitted with brass escutcheons and pulls, all above a recessed base panel supported by a pierced and carved foliate apron, on concave square-section legs
