Japanese Meiji period (1864-1911) porcelain incense burner in the shape of a dog of Foo. On the top of the dog of Foo, the lid of the incense burner in the shape of a Guanyin. (Goddess of compassion). This piece from the second half of the 19th century is opotted in thick porcelain. The Foo dog opens his beak to let the incense out, and to chase away evil spirits. Painted with enamels in striking colors. A rare piece in good condition.
